![]() Boosted CPU usage in power options to 50-100%ĥ. What I have tried to do to solve the issue with no success:Ĥ. My laptop no longer overheats or has loud ass fans running (not sure if this is important) Im swapping between windows like MSWord and chrome with great difficultyĥ. ![]() I tried googling this a bunch and most articles reference fullscreen apps, but i am not playing games or anything. My CPU, when the alttabbing is lagging is always <15%, usually around 6-11%, and when the speed returns to normal my CPU goes up to around 20-25% usageĤ. Manually clicking the windows on the bottom taskbar swaps windows instantly.ģ. While my system is performing the queue of alt+tabs, I can technically do anything else with no lag, like type on the current active window, or manually swap windows using the taskbarĢ. However this temp fix usually does not last longer than 5 minutes.ġ. Why do I alttab multiple times really fast? because this usually temporarily solves the issue, after spamming alt tab, eventually my system speeds up finishes all queued alt+tabs instantly and future alt+tabbing performs instantly as normal. This problem also stacks ontop of itself where if i alt+tab multiple times really fast, it will queue up the alt+tab action and perform them after the previous is done, but each takes a different amount of time to perform. What do I mean by this? Usually Alt+Tab is an instant windows swap, but when I press it, it takes anywhere between 3-10 seconds for the mini windows to pop up (what ur swapping through) and for the screen to actually change. Note: Aside from this alt+tab performance issue, my laptop is not suffering any other noticeable issueĪlt+tabbing takes an excruciating long time to perform and it is very inconsistent. It took me about 2 weeks to discover the issue and remove the screw from the port, which now my USB port fried? (it doesnt work). Because my TV had by 4k only 30 fps, and graphics card or game do automatically lock fps by 30, even if TV was off.About a month ago, a screw holding the backpanel of my laptop fell out and lodged itself into 1 of the USB ports, this caused a lot of heat conduction overheating my laptop consistantly (this is when this alt+tab problem started). I fixed it by unplugging my TV from graphics card. And it seems you have 2 monitors connected to the graphics card. When alt tabbed however, the game uses 30% cpu and 99% gpu. When I alt tab while in fullscreen, it still shoots to 300 fps, so it seems the application focus issue is still there.Īlso looking at the process monitor in task manager, I can see when in fullscreen and focused, the game will use 20% cpu and 14% gpu. I have already checked to see if any other application was getting in the way of Stationeers but this doesn't seem to be the case.Įdit: Updated drivers and now it seems to be a fullscreen or windowed problem. I realised this was the case when setting v-sync on and tabbing out to find the game ran at a steady 60 fps, and still locked to 30 fps when tabbed in. Would anyone be able to tell me how to reverse the foreground and background resource usage for this game? When tabbed into the game I get 30 fps (regardless of settings) and when tabbed out I get 300 fps. Glad to be able to play it at 60 fps but this still has me baffled and will keep trying to work it out. I'm starting to consider it being something to do with the rtx cards and fullscreen optimization settings, even though i have turned off fullscreen optimizations in the games. Though this still seems locked at 60 fps regardless of v-sync settings in both in-game and nvidia applcation settings. I've been messing around with Nvidia application settings and not quite sure how, but I managed to get the game to run at 60 fps while in fullscreen. It would seem that while the game is in windowed mode, it will still use 30% cpu and 99% gpu for 300 fps no matter what application I have focused. What happens if the game is in window mode and another application has the focus? Does the game still "run" or does it stand still?
